High temperature resistant dust bag: the core defense line for furnace flue gas filtration

In heavy industries such as metallurgy, cement, glass, and waste incineration, the treatment of kiln flue gas faces extremely strict challenges. High temperature, high humidity, strong corrosion, and complex chemical composition make ordinary filter materials difficult to handle. As the core component of bag filters, high-temperature resistant dust removal bags have become an indispensable "last line of defense" in the furnace flue gas filtration process due to their excellent temperature resistance and chemical stability.

Material science under harsh working conditions

The temperature of kiln flue gas usually remains above 150 ℃, even accompanied by instantaneous high temperature impact, which puts extremely high demands on the substrate of filter bags. At present, the mainstream high-temperature resistant filter bags are mainly divided into the following categories:

1. Fiberglass: It has excellent high temperature resistance and can operate stably for a long time in an environment ranging from 260 ℃ to 280 ℃. It has good dimensional stability and high tensile strength, but its bending and wear resistance are relatively weak, and it usually requires special surface chemical treatment to enhance its corrosion and hydrolysis resistance.

2. PPS (polyphenylene sulfide): a high-performance engineering plastic with a long-term temperature resistance of about 190 ℃ and an instantaneous temperature resistance of up to 200 ℃. PPS filter bags have excellent performance in acid and alkali corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and flame retardancy, and are widely used in high-temperature corrosive flue gas environments such as coal-fired boilers and garbage incinerators.

3. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): Known as the "plastic king", it has extremely strong chemical inertness and can withstand strong acid and alkali corrosion in the pH range of 1-14. Its continuous working temperature can reach 240 ℃ to 260 ℃, and it has extremely low friction coefficient and excellent hydrophobic performance, which can effectively prevent condensation and bag sticking under high humidity conditions.

4. Fumes (FMS) and P84: Fumes are usually made of various high-temperature resistant fiber composite needles, which have the characteristics of high temperature resistance, high strength, and corrosion resistance; P84 is known for its irregular blade shaped fiber cross-section, which provides a larger filtration surface area and extremely high filtration accuracy, with a temperature resistance of up to 260 ℃.

Key technical characteristics of kiln flue gas filtration

In addition to high temperature resistance, the complexity of kiln flue gas requires dust removal bags to have multi-dimensional protective performance:

1. Excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance: Kiln flue gas is often rich in sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and various acidic and alkaline substances. High quality high-temperature resistant filter bags can effectively resist the erosion of these chemicals through fiber selection and post-treatment processes, avoiding excessive emissions caused by bag brittleness or corrosion perforation.

2. Anti hydrolysis and anti condensation: Many kilns have high humidity in their flue gas. PPS and other materials are prone to hydrolysis reactions and failure under high temperature and high humidity, so special attention should be paid when selecting, or PTFE coating and waterproof and oil resistant treatment can be used to improve the hydrophobicity of the filter bag and prevent water vapor and dust from combining and blocking the filter holes.

3. Surface filtration and efficient dust removal: In order to cope with the high concentration of fine dust generated by kilns, modern high-temperature resistant filter bags commonly use PTFE coating technology. This layer of microporous film achieves "surface filtration", where dust is intercepted on the surface of the filter bag without being embedded inside. Combined with a pulse cleaning system, the dust stripping rate is extremely high, and the equipment can maintain low resistance operation for a long time.

Key points of scientific selection and operation and maintenance

The lifespan and efficiency of high-temperature resistant dust removal bags directly depend on the precise matching of working conditions. In the kiln dust removal project, it is not only necessary to clarify the normal temperature and maximum instantaneous temperature of the flue gas, but also to fully analyze the chemical composition and dust characteristics of the flue gas.

In addition, the supporting framework (bag cage) also requires high temperature resistance and anti-corrosion treatment to prevent the framework from rusting or burrs from scratching the filter bag. Through scientific material selection and precise operation and maintenance management, high-temperature resistant dust removal bags can achieve long-term stable operation under harsh kiln conditions, helping enterprises achieve ultra-low emission environmental goals.
