Precautions for maintenance and upkeep of dust collectors
Jul 31,2025
The maintenance of dust collectors is not only the key to ensuring equipment performance, but also requires avoiding operational errors and potential risks. The following are the key points to pay attention to during maintenance and upkeep, especially suitable for multi condition equipment management in foreign trade scenarios:
1、 Avoid one size fits all maintenance and adapt to device types
There are significant differences in maintenance taboos for different types of dust collectors: bag filters should avoid using high-pressure water guns to directly wash the filter bags (which may cause filter material failure), and the spraying pressure should not be increased arbitrarily during dust cleaning; It is strictly prohibited to touch the electrode system of the electrostatic precipitator while it is not powered off. The force of the vibration device should be adjusted according to the material of the electrode plate; Wet dust collectors should be regularly checked for water quality pH value and should not be started directly after long-term shutdown.
2、 Standardize operating procedures and eliminate safety hazards
Before maintenance, the "shutdown power-off tagging" process must be followed, especially when dealing with high temperature, corrosive or toxic dust, corresponding protective equipment must be worn and operated in a well ventilated environment. When cleaning the ash hopper, it is strictly prohibited to use metal tools to strike violently. Anti static tools should be used and the operating rhythm should be controlled. In addition, maintenance of electrical components must be carried out by professional electricians to avoid unauthorized disconnection or parameter debugging by non professionals.
3、 Be vigilant in maintaining 'excessive' or 'insufficient'
Excessive maintenance can increase costs and damage equipment: for example, frequent replacement of filter bags can lead to waste of filter media, and excessive cleaning of electrostatic precipitator plates may reduce dust removal efficiency. Insufficient maintenance can lead to hidden dangers, such as neglecting the lubrication of fan bearings and periodically checking the sealing of pipelines. Suggest developing precise maintenance cycles based on equipment operating loads and dust characteristics.
4、 Pay attention to environmental adaptability and avoid the impact of regional differences
For cross-border use scenarios of foreign trade equipment, regional environmental differences should be considered during maintenance: in high humidity areas (such as Southeast Asia), it is necessary to strengthen equipment moisture-proof treatment to avoid electrical components from being affected by moisture and short circuiting; In cold regions such as Northern Europe, wet dust collectors require proper pipeline insulation and residual liquid drainage after shutdown. At the same time, it is necessary to compare the safety standards of the exporting country of the equipment (such as EU CE certification requirements) to ensure that the maintenance consumables comply with local material specifications.
5、 Pay attention to recording and tracing, and connect with supplier support
Detailed records of equipment parameters, operators, and problem-solving results are required for each maintenance. These records are not only "medical records" of equipment status, but also important evidence for responding to overseas customer audits or environmental inspections. When complex faults occur, do not disassemble the core components without authorization. Contact the equipment supplier in a timely manner to obtain professional technical support and avoid secondary damage caused by misoperation.
Grasping these precautions can make the maintenance of dust collectors more scientific and efficient, reduce unnecessary cost losses, and ensure long-term stable operation of equipment, endorsing the reliability of equipment in foreign trade business.
