With the increasingly stringent global environmental regulations, how to efficiently and stably treat particulate matter in industrial waste gas has become a core issue for sustainable development of enterprises. Large scale bag filter equipment (usually referred to as bag filter) has become the preferred technical solution for dust control in cement plants and mines due to its excellent filtration accuracy and stable operating performance.

1、 Working principle of large-scale bag filter equipment

A large bag filter is essentially a dry dust filtering device that mainly utilizes the filtering effect of fiber fabrics to filter dusty gases. The core workflow usually includes two alternating stages of "filtering" and "cleaning":

1. Filtration stage: When the dusty gas enters the dust collector, it will first pass through the air inlet guide device to evenly distribute the airflow. Large particles of dust fall directly into the ash hopper under the action of gravity or inertia, while finer dust enters the middle box with the airflow. Dust is trapped on the outer surface of the filter bag, and the purified gas passes through the filter bag and enters the clean air chamber, ultimately being discharged into the atmosphere through the air outlet.

2. Dust cleaning stage: As the filtration progresses, the dust layer attached to the surface of the filter bag gradually thickens, leading to an increase in the operating resistance of the equipment. When the resistance reaches the preset value, the dust cleaning system automatically starts. At present, the mainstream large-scale equipment mostly adopts the "pulse jet cleaning" technology, which instantly releases high-pressure compressed air through electromagnetic pulse valves, induces airflow to impact the filter bag, causing high-frequency vibration and expansion, and thus shakes off the attached dust into the ash hopper to complete the cleaning cycle.

2、 Customized design for cement plants and mining conditions

The production environment of cement plants and mines is extremely complex, with dust having high concentration, fine particle size, and some working conditions accompanied by high temperature or corrosiveness. Therefore, specialized large-scale dust collectors have the following significant features in their design:

1. Selection of high-temperature and corrosion-resistant filter materials: In high-temperature flue gas processes such as the kiln head and tail of cement plants, the exhaust gas temperature is often high. Special filter bags with high temperature and corrosion resistance, such as fiberglass, P84, PPS, or PTFE film, are usually selected for equipment to ensure stable filtration performance even in environments with temperatures of 260 ℃ or higher.

2. Offline/online pulse dust cleaning technology: In order to ensure the continuity of production, large dust collectors often adopt a compartment structure design. During dust cleaning, the system can automatically close the filter chamber that needs to be cleaned (offline dust cleaning), and resume filtering after the dust cleaning is completed. This design not only thoroughly cleans the dust, but also effectively avoids secondary adsorption of dust.

3. Strong structural load-bearing and sealing performance: In response to the high concentration of dust generated in mining crushing and screening processes, the equipment box is usually welded with thick steel plates, which have extremely high sealing and pressure bearing capabilities to prevent dust leakage. At the same time, equipped with large capacity ash hoppers and efficient ash discharge devices (such as star shaped unloaders), to ensure that the collected materials can be discharged in a timely manner.

3、 Core application links and environmental benefits

In the cement and mining industry chain, large-scale bag filter equipment runs through the entire process from raw material mining to finished product packaging:

1. Raw material processing and crushing: Dust collectors can effectively capture mineral dust generated in crushers, vibrating screens, and limestone crushing processes in mines and cement plants, significantly improving the air quality at work sites.

2. Grinding and calcination: Raw material grinding, cement grinding, and flue gas treatment in rotary kilns are the key and difficult points of dust removal. Efficient dust collectors not only ensure that flue gas emissions meet standards, but also recycle valuable materials and reduce production losses.

3. Material transportation and packaging: Dust removal equipment can effectively curb unorganized emissions and protect the occupational health of workshop workers in areas such as belt conveyor transfer points and cement packaging machines.

4、 Intelligent operation and maintenance and future trends

With the advancement of Industry 4.0, modern large-scale bag filter equipment is no longer a single mechanical device, but an intelligent environmental protection equipment integrated with PLC programmable logic control system.

By installing monitoring components such as differential pressure sensors and temperature sensors, the control system can real-time monitor the operating status of the equipment. When the resistance of the filter bag is abnormal or the flue gas temperature exceeds the standard, the system will automatically alarm and adjust the cleaning frequency or activate emergency protection measures. This intelligent operation and maintenance method not only significantly reduces manual maintenance costs, but also effectively extends the service life of filter bags (usually up to 3 to 5 years), achieving a win-win situation for both environmental and economic benefits for enterprises.

As the "lung leaf" of green production in cement plants and mines, the technical level of large-scale bag filter equipment directly affects the environmental compliance and social image of enterprises. Through scientific filtration design, application of high-temperature and corrosion-resistant materials, and intelligent control strategies, this type of equipment has successfully solved the problem of high concentration dust control in heavy industry, providing solid technical support for the global industrial clean transformation.
