Maintenance of filter cartridge dust collector: Regularly replace the filter cartridge to ensure that the suction does not decrease

Sep 20,2025

The filter cartridge is the "core filter element" of the filter cartridge dust collector. After long-term use, dust will clog the micropores of the filter material, leading to a decrease in equipment suction - ranging from a decrease in dust removal efficiency and excessive emissions, to overloading and power consumption of the fan, affecting workshop production.

For overseas factories, regular replacement of filter cartridges is the key to maintaining dust collector suction and ensuring compliance. It is easy to operate but can avoid major troubles.
1、 Why do we need to change regularly? Three signals of decreased suction
When the filter cartridge encounters the following situations, it must be replaced in a timely manner:
1. The suction force has significantly weakened: when approaching the suction port, the wind force decreases and dust cannot be completely sucked up, such as welding smoke residue from electronic factories and wood chips accumulation from furniture factories;
2. Resistance exceeding the standard: The pressure gauge shows resistance greater than 1500Pa (normal operating resistance 800-1200Pa), the fan noise increases, and energy consumption increases by more than 15%;
3. Aging and damage of filter material: Cracks appear on the surface of the filter cartridge, the film falls off, or there is still dust leakage after cleaning, and the emission concentration exceeds local standards.
2、 Three steps to replace the filter cartridge, simple and easy to operate
No need for a professional team, factory technicians can complete the entire process, 10-15 minutes per unit:
1. Safe power-off: Turn off the power supply of the dust collector, release internal pressure, and avoid dust leakage or electric shock during replacement;
2. Disassemble old and install new: Open the maintenance door, take out the old filter cartridge (be careful to handle it gently to avoid dust scattering), align the new filter cartridge with the slot and install it, ensuring that the sealing ring is tightly fitted without gaps (gaps will leak air, directly affecting suction);
3. Inspection and testing: Power on and run for 5 minutes, observe whether the resistance of the pressure gauge drops back to the normal range, and whether the suction force of the suction port recovers.
3、 Replacement cycle: determined by working conditions, without waste or delay
Different overseas operating conditions result in significant differences in replacement cycles, making precise control more cost-effective
1. Room temperature drying scenarios (such as electronics factories and food factories): Polyester filter cartridges should be replaced every 6-8 months;
2. High temperature scenarios (such as plastic factories): Replace the high-temperature resistant filter cartridge every 4-6 months;
3. High humidity and dusty scenarios (such as furniture factories): The waterproof membrane filter cartridge should be replaced every 3-5 months to avoid moisture absorption and blockage.
4、 Foreign trade adaptation: Choosing the right filter cartridge for easier maintenance
Customized filter cartridges can be customized to meet the needs of overseas customers:
1. European and American markets: Choose CE certified filter cartridges that comply with EN 13285 standards and can be reused 1-2 times after cleaning;
2. High corrosion scenarios (such as chemical workshops): PTFE coated filter cartridges are used, which are acid and alkali resistant and have a longer lifespan, reducing the frequency of replacement.
Regularly replacing the filter cartridge is not an "additional expense", but a "low-cost guarantee" to maintain the suction of the filter cartridge dust collector - it not only avoids production delays and environmental fines caused by decreased suction, but also extends the overall life of the equipment, making the dust removal system of overseas factories stable and efficient at all times.
