Selection strategy of bag filter under high temperature conditions: ensuring efficient and stable operation

Dust control under high temperature conditions is a crucial step in the production process in industries such as metallurgy, chemical engineering, and building materials. Bag filters have become a commonly used choice due to their efficient filtration performance, but ordinary filter bags are difficult to withstand high temperature environments and are prone to shrinkage, deformation, and even burning, resulting in a decrease in dust removal efficiency. Therefore, it is crucial to choose a bag filter correctly under high temperature conditions, and comprehensive considerations should be made from multiple aspects such as filter bag material, structural design, and dust cleaning system to ensure stable operation and compliant emissions of the equipment.

The impact of high temperature conditions on bag filters

When the flue gas temperature exceeds the tolerance range of the filter bag, it will cause serious damage to the bag filter. High temperature can cause a decrease in the fiber strength of the filter bag, leading to shrinkage and deformation of the filter bag, damaging the sealing between the filter bag and the flower board, and causing dust leakage; Long term exposure to high temperatures can accelerate the aging of filter bags and shorten their service life; In extreme cases, high-temperature flue gas may even directly burn the filter bag, causing dust removal system failures. In addition, high temperatures may also affect the normal operation of the ash cleaning system, reduce ash cleaning efficiency, and increase equipment operating resistance.

Selection of filter bag material under high temperature conditions

1. Medium temperature condition (130 ℃ -200 ℃)
In medium temperature environments, Nomex filter bags are an ideal choice. Aramid has excellent high temperature resistance and can be used for a long time in an environment of 204 ℃, with an instantaneous temperature resistance of up to 240 ℃. It has good chemical stability, can resist most acid-base corrosion, and has high mechanical strength and strong wear resistance. In addition, PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) filter bags are also suitable for this temperature range. They have stable performance at 160-190 ℃ and excellent resistance to acidic gases. They are widely used in flue gas treatment in industries such as coal-fired boilers and waste incineration.

2. High temperature conditions (200 ℃ -260 ℃)
When the flue gas temperature is between 200-260 ℃, P84 (polyimide) filter bag performs outstandingly. P84 fibers have a cloverleaf shape, increasing surface area and improving filtration efficiency. They also have good high-temperature and chemical corrosion resistance, and can work continuously at high temperatures up to 260 ℃. At the same time, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) filter bags are also a high-quality choice for high temperature conditions. They have extremely strong chemical stability and can withstand almost all chemical substances' corrosion. They have excellent high temperature resistance and can be used for a long time in an environment of 250 ℃. The surface is smooth and not easy to accumulate dust, and the cleaning effect is good. They are suitable for harsh conditions such as high corrosion and high temperature in chemical and smelting industries.

Key points for selecting bag filters under high temperature conditions

1. Structural design optimization
Under high temperature conditions, the shell of the bag filter should be made of high temperature resistant materials, such as high temperature resistant steel plates, and insulated to reduce heat loss, lower the surface temperature of the shell, and prevent burns to operators and the impact of heat on surrounding equipment. At the same time, design the expansion compensation structure of the equipment reasonably to cope with the thermal expansion and contraction caused by high-temperature flue gas, and avoid damage to the equipment due to stress deformation.

2. Adaptation of dust cleaning system
High temperature can cause changes in the physical properties of dust, such as increased viscosity, which affects the cleaning effect. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the ash cleaning system according to the characteristics of high-temperature working conditions. The pulse blowing pressure can be appropriately increased to enhance the cleaning force; Adjust the spraying frequency and time to ensure timely removal of dust on the surface of the filter bag. In addition, selecting high-temperature resistant pulse valves, solenoid valves and other dust cleaning components ensures stable operation of the dust cleaning system in high-temperature environments.

3. Safety protection measures
In high-temperature conditions, it is important to pay attention to the safety protection of bag filters. Install a temperature monitoring device to monitor the flue gas temperature in real time. When the temperature exceeds the set threshold, an automatic alarm will be triggered and cooling measures will be taken, such as starting the cold air valve to mix in cold air to regulate the temperature. At the same time, the equipment needs to have good grounding measures to prevent static electricity accumulation from causing fire or explosion accidents.

4. Collaboration of supporting equipment
High temperature flue gas usually needs to be pre treated before entering the bag filter. Can be paired with a cyclone dust collector as a primary dust removal equipment to remove large particle dust and reduce the load of bag filters; Using a cooler to cool down the high-temperature flue gas, reducing the temperature to the range that the filter bag can withstand. Reasonably configuring these supporting equipment can improve the overall performance and service life of bag filters.

When choosing a bag filter under high temperature conditions, it is necessary to fully understand the characteristics of the working conditions, accurately match the filter bag material, optimize the equipment structure design, adapt to the dust cleaning system, and improve safety protection and supporting equipment. Through scientific selection, not only can bag filters ensure efficient and stable operation in high temperature environments, meeting the dust removal needs of enterprises, but they can also help enterprises achieve green production and gain an advantage in global industrial competition.
